- Find a location that will let you host the car show at little or no cost.
- Pick a date that will work for you and the location: Double check to see if there are any events during the same time so there will be no conflict.
- Place in Ad in the paper and possibly ask them to write up an article on NKH and your experiences with it.
- Start going to local businesses for sponsors. Letting them know of the fundraiser and the organization. Date and time of the event. Also check and see if you might put a flier in their place of business and applications for the event. If they are not willing to sponsor the event maybe they would donate an item for a silent auction or a prize.
- Decide on the amount for registration fee usually $20 prior to event and $25 the day of event.
- You will need top 10 trophies, ribbons for participation and dash plaques for the first 50 entries.
- Check local radio stations for free advertisement for non-profit organizations.
- If there will be t-shirts given with registration, make arrangements for sponsors with their names on the t-shirts to cover the cost. They are nice to have the event name and our logo incorporated on the front. These t-shirts may also be sold at the event.
- Place an Ad for vendors and charge them a flat rate to be at the event (usually $50-$75).
- You will need volunteers available to help you on the day of the event. Taking money, watching silent auction items etc… Ask Civic groups like churches, Scouts, clubs, friends and family members.
- Have tables set up to sell t-shirts, bracelets, candy bars, and give hand-outs etc.
- Admission can be charged but usually only if it is a gated facility.
